Hi, I'm Malory McLemore, the creator of Imperium.

Why am I solving this problem?

I have stood up AS9100 quality management systems from scratch at a few aerospace start-ups. I helped architect the early system at Anduril during my MBA internship there in 2021. I wrote Hadrian's first QMS from scratch and built early software and physical systems to comply in 2022. I have recently done a couple of AS9100 stand-ups for companies in El Segundo. Before all of that, I was a senior quality engineer at Raytheon in Goleta, CA — so I also understand the customer's point of view on suppliers.

Why is getting an AS9100 hard?

Aerospace start-ups and machine shops don't need a consultant to read the standard to them. Shops need actual support that gets the processes in place, because they are busy shipping parts and building factories.

I built Imperium because Google Docs and a $5,000 template package from a consultant were the state of the art, and I knew manually rebuilding each Quality Management System (QMS) from scratch was wasting time teams should be spending on their actual product and technology. A QMS is just a reflection of the processes and systems within the company that produce great customer outcomes — a living system that enables employees to be successful.

The solution

AI is an amazing technology with a huge impact on document-heavy processes like AS9100. LLMs are very good at generating documentation, cross-referencing across documents, and ensuring basic records are maintained within forms and systems.
